Kogi: Ododo launches Metropolitan Quick Response Squad against crimes

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has introduced a new security initiative to address the growing criminal activities in Lokoja, the state capital, and other major towns in Kogi.
Dubbed the Metropolitan Quick Response, the operation is a collaboration between the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police and the joint task force of security agencies in the state, as confirmed by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor.
During the launch at the government house in Lokoja, Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to tackling crime effectively.
He emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of Kogi residents is a top priority, with no effort spared to guarantee peaceful nights for all.
Governor Ododo stated, “Today, we are initiating the Metropolitan Quick Response (MQR) to enhance our security measures in Lokoja Metropolis and beyond.”
The operation is part of ongoing security strategies to maintain a safe environment and strengthen the state’s security framework.
The Governor vowed to eliminate criminal elements across every corner of Kogi State, making it inhospitable for wrongdoers.
He praised the bravery and dedication of security agencies in the state, promising continued support for their endeavors in safeguarding Kogi.
Governor Ododo urged citizens to stay vigilant, provide timely information to security forces, and assured ongoing efforts to enhance intelligence capabilities through technology.
