Kwara commends conduct of WASSCE mathematics exam

Kwara State Government has expressed satisfaction with the smooth and orderly conduct of the General Mathematics paper in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) held across the state on Tuesday.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, expressed his satisfaction during a monitoring visit to selected secondary schools in Oyun and Offa Local Government Areas of the state.
In a statement by Press Secretary in the ministry, Peter Amogbonjaye, made available to the press on Wednesday, Olohungbebe described the coordination and discipline witnessed during the General Mathematics examination as “highly commendable”, especially when compared to the conduct of the English Language examination held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, urging the West African Examinations Council to maintain and improve on this standard in subsequent papers.
Addressing the students, the Commissioner encouraged them to maintain integrity throughout the examination period and beyond and advised them to stay away from any form of malpractice that could tarnish their image or bring shame to their families, the state and the nation.
He also appreciated the teachers for their dedication and support in implementing government education policies effectively, while acknowledging their vital role in upholding standards and shaping the future of the students.
Olohungbebe emphasised that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, remains committed to transforming the education sector, noting that “this government is investing heavily in education to ensure that the children of the common man are given the opportunity to become great leaders of tomorrow.”
Schools visited during the monitoring exercise were Erinle Secondary School, Offa Grammar School, Ansarul-Deen College, Offa and Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo.
