Lovers electrocuted during intimate encounter

Two lovers have reportedly electrocuted during an intimate encounter in Ondo town in Ondo state.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident took place in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo town.
The victims, identified as Eric and his yet-to-be-identified girlfriend, were found dead in a newly rented apartment.
Reports has it that their lifeless bodies were discovered together, indicating they were intimate before the incident. The couple was later separated by a doctor.
Sources suggest the electrocution occurred during a power surge while a generator was running on the premises. A phone, plugged into a power socket, was found on the bed, possibly making contact with a live wire.
The relatives of the deceased discovered the bodies after the couple failed to answer phone calls the following day. Peering through a window, they saw the bodies and broke down the door to enter.
Funmi Odunlami, the state Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing. “The man and woman were known to both their families as lovers. They died in the room, but were not found stuck together. The cause of death is still under investigation,” she said.
