Moghalu to involve all party leaders, lawmakers, others to win Anambra

The Labour Party candidate in the Anambra State governorship election, Chief George Moghalu has promised to involve all the leaders of the party in his efforts to win the election, and to add Anambra State to the Labour Party family.
Chief Muoghalu also extended the hands of fellowship to John Nwosu, his opponent in the just concluded Labour Party primaries that held over the weekend in Awka, Anambra State.
Speaking at the National Headquarters of the Labour Party in Abuja while receiving the Certificate of Returns from the party leadership on Tuesday, the LP candidate said the primary election was free and fair, while also appreciating the party for creating a level playing ground for the success of the exercise.
He said, “I am totally indebted to our national leader, His Excellency, Peter Obi, the Abia state governor, Dr. Alex Otti, all our national Assembly members and even members of the state House of Assemblies.
“I will reach out to all of them. I would like all of us to come together under one roof and do the needful by winning this election and adding it to the Labour Party Family.
“For me, nobody won, nobody lost. Labour Party won. It is my responsibility to stretch out my hands of fellowship to my brother and friend who had the courage to contest the election. He committed no offence by expressing his desire to lead like I did, but the choice of who to represent the party in the forthcoming election was for the delegates to make. And to the glory of God, I happened to be the beneficiary of that decision for which I give God the glory.
“I want to assure the party leadership that I am setting out on this mission with a firm commitment not to disappoint any of you. We are going to go into this election and we are going to win. I believe very strongly that power belongs to God and he gives to whom He wishes to at His own time and I believe that the time is now.
“I thank you for the encouragement, the support, and for creating the enablement, for providing us a level playing field and for not interfering. You allowed the will of God and the will of the people to prevail for which I am eternally grateful.”
In his opening speech, the Deputy National Chairman, Chief Clement Ojukwu assured the candidate of the party’s support. He said that the party is committed to the project of winning the governorship election in Anambra and it will go all out to ensure that the aspiration becomes a reality.
The National Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Umar Farouk presented the certificate of returns to the candidate with other members of the National Working Committee in attendance.
