Peter Obi reacts to Doyin Okupe’s death

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Doyin Okupe, describing his death as a profound loss to Nigeria’s political landscape.
In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi revealed that he received the news of Okupe’s death with great sadness. He extended his condolences to Okupe’s family and the Obidient movement, acknowledging the late politician’s contributions to the nation.
Obi praised Okupe as an active political figure who was committed to the vision of a better Nigeria. He urged members of the Obidient movement and well-wishers to pray for the repose of Okupe’s soul and to support his family during this difficult time.
“May God Almighty, who called him home, grant him eternal rest and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear this sad and irreplaceable loss,” Obi wrote.
Okupe, a seasoned politician and former spokesperson for ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was a key player in Nigeria’s political space. His passing has drawn tributes from various quarters, recognizing his years of service and dedication.
