Popular Nollywood actress opens up on separation from husband

Popular Nollywood actress, Biola Bayo, has stirred emotional reactions on social media after sharing a deeply personal message to mark the birthday of her ex-husband and father of her child.
In a touching Instagram post, the film star revealed that she and her husband have been separated since April 2024 but have chosen to peacefully co-parent their son. She accompanied the announcement with heartfelt prayers and kind words for her ex, celebrating his new age.
“Happy birthday to my ex-husband and my baby daddy,” she began. “I pray that grace will abound unto you, I pray you find peace in all your ways. May God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations in Jesus’ name.”
Biola admitted that while many might be surprised by the revelation, she believes their decision was made in wisdom and maturity. She extended apologies to fans who may feel disappointed, expressing her wish that the marriage had worked out.
“To everyone that feels disappointed, I’m sincerely sorry. I wished it worked but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story,” she wrote.
The actress also gave a rare glimpse into her personal pain, confessing that behind the smiles she shares publicly lies a private struggle filled with tears and emotional battles.
“While I go about making other people happy in the day, my pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months,” she said, adding that her faith in Christ has been her source of strength.
Biola concluded the post with a plea for prayers and a reminder for kindness, noting that many people carry silent burdens.
“Let’s learn to be kind to people. You have no idea what others are going through until they say it. SAY UNTO THE RIGHTEOUS, ALL IS WELL. PEACE.”
The post has since gone viral with wave of supportive comments from fans and colleagues, many of whom praised her courage, vulnerability, and maturity in handling such a sensitive matter.
