Presidency, Obasanjo no be your mate! By Olaleye Olawale

The presidency, as expected, replied to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s critique yesterday and dismissed him as “not an ideal leader.”
It appears you guys don’t look in the mirror before you say anything. Your background of pseudo activism is still misleading you all, and you think you’re still all that.
Let’s even admit that Obasanjo is not an ideal leader in the true sense. Does your presidency represent anything positive at all to challenge his claims or criticisms?
In spite of your incumbency, do you think Obasanjo would walk into anywhere in the world, and other global leaders would look in your way?
Wisdom presupposes that a man knows his strengths and weaknesses and admits to each, respectively.
My mum of blessed memory always said to me, “A man incapable of saying to himself, ‘I was wrong in this matter,’ is incapable of being fair in someone else’s case.”
Your arrogance and refusal to seek counsel and as well admit that you lack capacity is the reason Nigeria is where she is today.
Obasanjo might have made his mistakes as president, and life had since moved on. But there’s no basis for comparison between what you guys currently offer and what he gave Nigeria.
Don’t be deceived. You guys are not close to what would take Nigeria from the mess your progressive lot had further plunged it into. You’re just a confused lot.
Give Obasanjo his flowers, even if you won’t stop living in denial. He is not your mate in all ramifications.
Seek help because you evidently need one and stop grandstanding in palpable failure. This habitual deceit is no longer working.
Rest, abeg!
