Protest hits Ondo over killing of farmers

Angry protesters stormed the Governor’s Office at Alagbaka, Akure, the Ondo state capital over the alleged killing of five farmers by armed herdsmen at Aba Oyinbo community in Akure North Local Government Area.
Reports revealed that assailants invaded the community on Wednesday, opening fire on the victims.
The recent protest to the governor’s office was the second in the last few weeks following the surge in kidnappings in the state.
Twenty farmers were killed by suspected herdsmen in the same council area last week after they invaded and sacked four communities.
As of the time of filing this report, security operatives had been deployed to the protest scene to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
