PSG eye Osimhen ahead of January

Paris Saint-Germain have intensified their pursuit of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with the French champions looking to secure the Napoli loanee from Galatasaray in January.
The Nigeria international, who has been in scintillating form since joining the Turkish giants, has amassed an impressive record of 10 goals and five assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.
According to RMC Sport, PSG have already made contact with the forward regarding a potential January transfer, reviving their interest after a failed summer approach.
However, any potential deal faces significant hurdles, including the reluctance of PSG manager Luis Enrique, who previously expressed reservations about signing the 25-year-old during the summer window.
The complex nature of negotiations, which would involve three parties – Napoli, Galatasaray, and the player – could further complicate matters within the limited timeframe of the January window.
Amid the transfer speculation, Osimhen has publicly declared his commitment to Galatasaray.
“I will not leave in January, I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season. I do not know what Galatasaray and Napoli are talking about afterwards, but if they come to me, we will talk. Galatasaray is a nice club that I like very much. I am very happy here,” the striker stated.
The situation is further complicated by interest from several Premier League clubs. Manchester United’s new manager Ruben Amorim has identified Osimhen as a top target to address their scoring woes, while Chelsea are also monitoring his situation.
Napoli director Giovanni Manna recently dismissed speculation about a January move, telling DAZN, “I already said many times that nobody has talked to us.
“Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think a lot has been said about this; nothing is happening.”
The striker’s €75m release clause could prove another stumbling block for interested clubs, though his loan deal with Turkish league leaders Galatasaray reportedly includes a January break clause that could facilitate a mid-season move.
PSG’s renewed interest comes as they consider potential replacements for Randal Kolo Muani who has not filled the void left by Kylian Mbappe’s exits. The French club could also move for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, which might impact their pursuit of Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker’s stock has risen considerably following his exploits in Serie A, where he helped Napoli secure their first Scudetto in 33 years with 26 league goals.
