Rivers sole administrator invites Fubara, deputy

Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, CFR, has formally invited the suspended Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
This development was disclosed on Tuesday via a special announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika.
According to the statement, the summon is connected to an ongoing official inquiry into the appointments made by the Fubara administration during its two-year tenure.
The inquiry seeks to examine the legality, transparency, and impact of those appointments within the context of the current emergency administration.
“Sir Fubara has been directed to come with full documentation and records concerning all appointments carried out while he was in office, including the procedures and justifications behind those decisions.”
The statement also noted that the suspended governor would be given the chance to provide a clear and detailed explanation on why he believes he should be reinstated to office.
Both Fubara and his deputy have been instructed to appear in person on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Conference Room of the Rivers State Government House.
The notice stressed that their attendance is mandatory, adding that the inquiry is part of the Sole Administrator’s commitment to bringing back transparency, accountability, and lasting peace to governance in Rivers State.
