Royal rumble in Kano: Abba shopping for counter court order on Sanusi’s reinstatement

Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf and the reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II are reportedly hatching a plan to obtain a counter court order following the directive by a Federal High Court stopping reinstatement of the kater as Emir.
Accirding to the report, sources closed to the palace said the governor in cohort with the embattled monarch have invited the state Chief Judge, Justice Dije Aboki to perfect the alledged plan.
It was gathered that the Chief Judge had held a secret meeting with the governor and Sanusi at the palace, and were said to be insistent on having the counter order.
During the secret meeting reportedly held in the wee hours of Saturday, Sanusi was allegedly said to be insistent on getting the order.
The source said: “They want the Chief Judge to direct a Kano High Court judge, whose name is yet to be disclosed to issue an order countering the expert order by a Federal High Court in Kano, restraining the governor from resinstating Sanusi and implementation of other provisions of the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024.
“The court ordered that the parties should maintain the status quo pending the hearing and determination of the case on June 3.”
Another source, according to the report, disclosed that certain amount of money had been promised in the deal.
Justice Dije, whose daughter is said to be married to Sanusi’s son, was said to have promised to do her best on the issue.
