Teenager allegedly murders father in Osun cocoa farm


A tragic incident has occurred in Ilusi village, Atakumosa East, Osun State, where a teenager identified as Saidi has allegedly killed his father, known as ‘Baale,’ during a cocoa harvesting trip.
According to sources in the village, Baale was declared missing on October 31, leading community members to search for him. The search ended in heartbreak on November 1 when he was found dead on their cocoa farm with his head severed. Saidi, who had reportedly accompanied his father to the farm, initially denied involvement in the killing. However, after interrogation and alleged physical coercion by locals, he confessed to the crime, according to sources.
Adding to the mystery, Baale’s cocoa harvest and motorcycle were still at the crime scene, leading some villagers to question whether Saidi acted alone or was indeed responsible.
Following the confession, Saidi was handed over to authorities and taken to Iperindo police station. Osun State Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, stating, “The boy is in custody, and an investigation is ongoing.”
The case has left Ilusi village in shock, as community members grapple with the grim details and unanswered questions surrounding Baale’s death.
