Transfer: Bardghji agrees to join Barcelona

Barcelona and Copenhagen have reached an agreement for the transfer of the young Swedish talent Roony Bardghji.
The Catalan club will pay around two million euros, plus add-ons, for the player whose contract was due to expire at the end of this year.
While much attention has focused on the possible signing of Nico Williams, Barcelona appear to have secured another promising youngster they have been tracking for some time. Roony Bardghji, currently with Danish side Copenhagen, is set to be the latest addition to the Blaugrana ranks.
On Monday, it was reported that the Catalans had accelerated negotiations to acquire the player, whose deal in Denmark was set to run out later this year. Then, on Tuesday, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal with his trademark “Here we go”.
According to Romano, all parties — including the clubs and the player himself — have reached a full agreement, which is expected to be officially signed and announced next week.
Barcelona will pay approximately €2 million, plus potential variables, and the agreement will include a resale clause that could benefit Copenhagen in the future.
Although the length of Bardghji’s contract with Barcelona has not yet been revealed, Romano states it will be a long-term deal, signalling the club’s confidence in the 19-year-old.
Bardghji suffered a knee injury during training in May 2024, which has limited his appearances during the 2024/25 season to just 242 minutes.
