The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has provided Nigerians with a detailed guide on how to report harassment from digital loan apps and other unfair business practices.
In a post shared on Friday, January 31, the FCCPC assured consumers that they do not have to endure intimidation or unfair treatment from loan providers, emphasizing its commitment to protecting consumer rights.
The commission’s statement read:
“Are you being harassed by loan apps or unfair businesses? No consumer should live in fear! The FCCPC is here for you, ensuring your rights are protected and businesses play fair.”
The agency encouraged affected individuals to take action by lodging complaints through its official website, fccpc.gov.ng, or sending an email to contact@fccpc.gov.ng. Consumers were also advised to notify the FCCPC via direct message (DM) for tracking purposes.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns over aggressive debt recovery tactics used by some loan apps, including threats, public shaming, and unauthorized access to borrowers’ contacts.
The FCCPC has continuously cracked down on illegal lending platforms, shutting down several digital lenders found guilty of violating consumer protection laws.
