Obakoro’s arrest follows her suspension from office, which the Delta State Government announced on Tuesday. According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the suspension was to allow security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations against her.
Obakoro is accused of using her political position to defraud individuals, promising to leverage her connections with the governor to facilitate international travel opportunities. However, her activities came under scrutiny when VeryDarkMan publicly exposed her, prompting swift action from the government.
Reports indicate that police detained her after complainants presented substantial evidence supporting the fraud claims.
