Lenglet terminates Barcelona’s contract, signs for Atletico

Barcelona announced on Monday an agreement for the termination of contract of Clement Lenglet.
The French centre-back has signed for Atletico Madrid, where he spent last season on loan, until 2028.
Clement Lenglet has left Barcelona to play for Atletico. The Azulgrana side announced the termination of the contract of the centre-back, who was due to return after spending the last year on loan at the Rojiblanco club.
The Frenchman had one year left on his contract with Los Cules, but the Catalan club have finally decided to put an end to his time at Camp Nou, as Hansi Flick does not count on him. It was the first move before Atletico Madrid made his signing official. Lenglet has signed for Diego Pablo Simeone’s side for three seasons, until 30 June 2028.
“FC Barcelona and the first team player Clément Lenglet have reached an agreement for the termination of the contract linking the two parties. FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Clément Lenglet for his commitment and dedication and wish him all the best for the future,” said Atletico in the statement.
In this way, Atletico will be sure to have the French centre-back for the Club World Cup, which starts this week, and Barcelona will be able to free up a high profile player from the Bartomeu era.
