6 kidnapped as bandits attack Niger community

Six girls have been kidnapped in Pandogari, a community in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
The girls were said to have been abducted on Wednesday when some bandits numbering about 100 stormed the village through the Birnin Gwari axis.
Passing through Mamman Kontagora Technical College, the bandits abducted the girls and took them to Kwangel Forest, a well-known bandits hideout.
Ayuba Usman Katako, the chairman of Rafi LGA who confirmed the said the council has witnessed several attacks in the past weeks.
According to Katako, a member of the vigilante group lost his life during a particular attack.
“It is true that bandits attacked Pandogari community. In fact, that was not the only attack in the last two weeks. The Friday attack was the third one.
“In the previous attacks, they only succeeded in kidnapping some people, but on Friday, a life was lost before they kidnapped eight people. Fortunately, four of them escaped,” Katako said.
