Governor Otti pays respect to slain soldier’s family

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has paid a heartfelt visit to the family of Corporal Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, a fallen soldier who tragically lost his life in a brutal attack by unknown gunmen at Obikabia Junction in Obingwa Local Government Area.
Alex Otti shared a personal connection with the late Corporal Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, as they both hailed from the same village, Nvosi, located in Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
Corporal Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, who tragically lost his life on May 30, 2024, during a brutal ambush by gunmen while on duty, is survived by his young wife, who was expecting their second child, and an elderly mother.
Commiserating with the family, Governor Otti reiterated his promise that the state government would take up the responsibility of training the children of the slain soldiers on scholarship up to the university level.
Upon his arrival, Governor Alex Otti was warmly received by the uncle of the late Corporal Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, who briefed him on the family’s plans for the soldier’s funeral, which has been scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2024, after obtaining the necessary approval from the military authorities.
