Breaking: FG, ASUU in closed-door meeting

The Federal Government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are currently holding a private meeting to discuss issues and avert the impending strike action threatened by the union.
Before the meeting began on Wednesday, Prof. Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education, addressed the press, emphasizing the significance of the gathering in addressing key challenges facing the university sector.
ASUU had earlier sent a formal communication to the Ministry of Education, outlining various issues and concerns impacting the university system, which necessitated this emergency meeting.
The outcome of this meeting is being eagerly awaited, as stakeholders hope for a positive resolution that will prevent disruptions to academic activities and maintain stability in Nigerian universities.
