Buhari pays tribute as Ali Modu Sheriff loses mother

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has paid tribute to Hajiya Aisa, mother of former governor of Borno state, Senator Ali Modu Sherif.
She died in Abuja at the age of 93 and was buried in Maiduguri.
The former President in in a statement signed by his media adviser, Malam Garba Shehu, highlighted the deep influence of the late mother in shaping the character and the success of her children, saying that she lived a glorious life.
The statement said: “There is no greater loss than losing one’s mother.
“My condolenes to Senator Ali Sherif and the larger Sherif family on the passing away of their mother. May Allah accept her good deeds.”
The statement said former President Buhari had dispatched a team led by two of his former ministers, Mustapha Baba Shehuri and Engineer Abubakar Aliyu, and a former presidential aide, Garba Shehu to represent him at the third day prayers on Wednesday.
Muhammadu Buhari also extended his deep condolences to the Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi and the entire people of the state on the loss of this prominent citizen.
