Police kick against unlawful possession of medical instruments

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has kicked against the possession of medical instruments by non-medical personnel.
Adejobi issued this warning on Thursday in response to a query from a user of X, who sought clarification on the legality of owning syringes.
The X user wrote: “PoliceNG, I was handcuffed yesterday and asked to bail myself because I was having two syringes and Petri dishes in my bag. Is this a crime?”
Responding, Adejobi said: “Are you a medical practitioner? We need to know much about you so that we know how to handle this.
“If you are not, they should have arraigned you, let alone bailing you or demanding bail money at all. I have an interest in the case. We need to know the policemen who even compromised in the first instance.
“These are used for so many things, and it’s a case of unlawful possession, possibly impersonation, etc.”
