FG provides update on FFS recruitment

The Federal Government has announced that the ongoing recruitment process for the Federal Fire Service (FFS) is scheduled to be completed by September 2024.
On Sunday, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board issued a statement containing details about the recruitment process, including its expected completion date.
The recruitment process, which started in late 2023 and was initially scheduled to conclude on June 15, 2024, faced delays, leading to growing anxiety and frustration among applicants.
However, in the statement, the Secretary to the board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, said, “The board wishes to apologise over its inability to complete the process by 15th June, 2024, as earlier intended.
“This is due to a nationwide manpower audit exercise carried out in the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which was just recently concluded.
“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board wishes to inform the general public that it will commence the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August, and will conclude the exercise before the end of September, 2024.”
He further announced that shortlisted candidates will be informed of the next phase of the recruitment process via the contact information they provided, including phone numbers and email addresses.
