Akpabio schools Natasha on how to speak as lawmaker

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has schooled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, on the proper way to address the Senate.
He remind her that the Senate is a place of decorum and respect, unlike a nightclub where informal language may be acceptable.
On Thursday, during a Senate session, President Akpabio called for a voice vote on a bill’s second reading, asking those in favor to say ‘Aye’ and those opposed to say ‘Nay’.
The ‘Nay’ response was significantly louder, and as Akpabio considered his next step, Senator Natasha stood up to explain why she and several others were opposed to the bill’s second reading.
“Mr President, we don’t want it to be killed. We just want a bit of modification. We don’t want the bill killed but there should be slight modification…”
Responding to her, Akpabio said, “You see Senator Natasha, in the chamber, you have to be recognized before you speak. We’re not in a nightclub.”
Natasha said, “Oh, pardon me,” and returned to her seat.
