Miracle soap: Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin responds to NAFDAC ‘fake soap’ allegations

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin and Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry have issued a statement addressing recent allegations made by The Punch newspaper regarding an investigation by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
The church claims that The Punch’s report, which alleged NAFDAC was investigating the use of miracle water and soap, presented a misleading narrative. Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry asserts that it is a law-abiding organization guided by the principles of religious freedom as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.
The church revealed that the only pending petition against it originated from Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman, who is currently being sued by the church for alleged forgery and other matters.
Contrary to The Punch’s claims, Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry stated that it has been cooperating with NAFDAC, attending a meeting at the agency’s Asaba office on September 2, 2024, and providing statements. The church agreed to continue dialogue with NAFDAC as the investigation progresses.
The church accused The Punch of unethical journalism, publishing a one-sided story without seeking their response. They urged the public to disregard the reports as baseless and assured them of their commitment to their spiritual mission and legal obligations.
Sophia Lloyd, speaking on behalf of Mercy Television, reiterated the church’s commitment to religious freedom and expressed disappointment in the media for spreading misleading narratives. The church assured the public that they would continue to engage with NAFDAC to resolve the issues at hand.
