Arokodare speaks on joining Iwobi, Bassey at Fulham

Genk striker Tolu Arokodare could team up with compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Fulham in January, with Turkish publication Haber61 reporting that English Premier League club are preparing a bid for the in-form striker.
Arokodare joined Genk in 2023 and has been impressive for the club, scoring goals for fun, with six registered in 10 appearances this season, just four goals shy of his tally the last term.
His impressive performance during the 2023/24 season attracted the 23-year-old to Trabzonspor during the summer, but the move reportedly failed due to Genk’s high asking price.
The 1.98m tall forward now has caught the attention of Fulham manager Marco Silva, with a January move being mooted for the striker following his outstanding start to the 2024/25 campaign.
“Fulham are testing the waters for Tolu Arokodare, who was on Trabzonspor’s radar in the summer transfer window. The Claret-Blues had shelved the transfer due to the player’s high price.
“Following this development, the English team has already added KRC Genk’s giant forward Arokodare to the list in order to strengthen their offensive line in the January transfer period.
“Despite Fulham’s current forwards Raul Jimenez and Rodrigo Muniz finding form under Marco Silva, the club are still searching for a new No. 9.”
Arokodare is yet to get an invitation to the national team, but the striker remains hopeful of a call-up.
“We have a huge talent in our attack obviously, and the whole squad is full of talents,” Arokodare told Tribal Football.
“I haven’t been contacted by the NFF, but with time, if I keep performing right and doing the right things, I think I will get that call soon. With me not being called up, I think it’s not my time, and I think the players that are being called up before me worked to be in that position; they deserved every invitation to the Super Eagles. I just need to have patience and work harder.”
