Railway Corporation appoints new acting MD

Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has appointed Mr. Ben Iloanusi as its Acting Managing Director, following the conclusion of Mr. Freeborn Okhiria’s tenure.
Okhiria, who completed his second four-year term on October 18, formally handed over to Iloanusi, the most senior director in the corporation, during a brief ceremony.
In a statement issued by the NRC’s Deputy Director of Public Relations, Mr. Yakub Mahmood, Okhiria expressed gratitude to the corporation’s staff for their support throughout his tenure.
He urged them to extend the same cooperation to the new acting managing director.
“I encourage the management and staff to continue their support and collaboration with the acting managing director to ensure the corporation’s progress,” Okhiria stated.
In his remarks, Iloanusi pledged to foster teamwork within the organization and welcomed suggestions and constructive feedback that could enhance NRC’s operations.
Previously serving as the Director of Procurement, Iloanusi has been with the NRC since 2011. He holds a degree in political science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA in International Management from South Bank University, London.
With his appointment, Iloanusi expressed confidence in working closely with the corporation’s workforce to build on the achievements of his predecessor.
