Lagbaja’s home town union mobilises religious organisations for prayers


The Ilobu-Asake Development Union and entire sons and daughters of Ilobu, the hometown of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, have commenced spiritual support for the ailing Chief of Army Staff.
In a statement signed by the President, Ilobu Asake Development Union, Pastor Olufemi Salako, on behalf of the community expressed gratitude to God for intervening over Lagbaja’s health challenges.
“We are thankful for his survival and commend his base team, the medical team and loved ones who have been supporting him during this period.
“We hereby call on all religious organizations, faith-based groups in Ilobu-Asake, and well-meaning individuals to intensify prayers for Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s speedy recovery, strength, and quick return to his critical duties.
“Regrettably, we have observed rumors circulating in the social media about his health, we strongly admonish those responsible to desist from spreading unfounded information, which can cause unnecessary anxiety and tension. We call on media organizations to adhere to the tenets of their profession while we also caution social media commentators to stop spreading unverified stories.”
The community further declared their support for Lagbaja, his family and the Nigeria Army, while reiterating their confident that the army chief will overcome the challenge.
