VIDEO: 5 friends dead after consuming pepper soup cooked by ex-girlfriend

A tragic incident has reportedly claimed the lives of a young man and his four friends after they allegedly consumed a meal of pepper soup prepared by the young man’s ex-girlfriend.
The incident, which has sparked outrage and speculation online, was captured in a trending video making rounds on X (formerly Twitter).
In the viral clip, the lifeless bodies of the victims can be seen lying on a bed, as Nigerian police officers are present at the scene to investigate the situation.

It was gathered that the tragic incident occurred in Auchi, Edo State on Saturday, October 26.
Although details of the incident are still sketchy, reports indicate that the woman, who was trying to get back at the boy for ending their relationship, gave him a plate of poison-laced fish pepper soup. He, unfortunately, ate the meal with four of his friends.
The suspect, identified simply as Peculiar, has since been arrested by the Nigerian army.
According to unverified reports circulating on social media, the ex-girlfriend allegedly served the pepper soup to the boy and his friends. However, the exact circumstances leading to their deaths are still under investigation, and authorities are yet to release an official statement.
