Corps member slumps, dies in orientation camp

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Tayachibiyacha Ebal, with code KB/24C/918, has tragically passed away while serving in Dakingari, Kebbi State.
Ebal, a female corps member, reportedly slumped and was immediately taken to the camp clinic in Dakingari for urgent medical attention. Due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Birnin-Kebbi, where she sadly passed away despite efforts by medical personnel to save her life.
The Kebbi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, through its spokesman, Comrade Nurudeen Bala Fingiller, confirmed the tragic incident in an official statement. According to Fingiller, the remains of the deceased have been returned to her family in Adamawa State for burial.
“On behalf of the NYSC and the Kebbi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, I extend our deepest condolences to His Excellency and to all our teeming youths on this irreparable loss,” the statement read.
Fingiller also expressed gratitude to the Kebbi State Governor for his financial support and swift facilitation of the burial arrangements in collaboration with the deceased’s family.
The unfortunate passing of Tayachibiyacha Ebal has cast a shadow over the NYSC community and highlighted the emotional toll of such tragedies on both families and fellow corps members.
