Crime Correspondents mourn with CP Olatunji Disu over son’s tragic death


The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN) has extended heartfelt condolences to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Olatunji Disu, following the tragic loss of his son in a fatal auto accident on Monday, January 21, 2025.
In a press statement signed by its Secretary General, FCT chapter, Babatunde Ayeni, the association described the incident as a devastating blow to a dedicated law enforcement officer who has significantly transformed the security landscape of the Federal Capital Territory since taking office.
The CCAN praised CP Disu’s tireless efforts in reducing crime in the FCT, noting that his achievements were made possible through the support of his family, the Command’s management team, and various stakeholders. Despite this personal tragedy, the association encouraged the Commissioner to remain resolute in his mission to ensure the safety of residents in the capital.
“We mourn with CP Disu and his family during this difficult time. This loss is undoubtedly a profound one, and we stand with him in solidarity,” the statement read.
The association also prayed for the soul of the departed to rest in peace and offered prayers for strength and comfort for CP Disu, his family, and the entire FCT Police Command.
“We pray that Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants the departed Al-Jannah Firdaus and gives the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
The late son of CP Disu is remembered as part of a family that has contributed immensely to public safety, and his untimely demise has left a void that will be deeply felt.
Funeral arrangements for the deceased have not been announced as of press time.
