Shehu Sani speaks amid Adesina’s 2027 presidential ambition

Former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has advised President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Akin Adesina to be wary of politicians amid his rumoured interest in the Nigerian presidency.
Sani said this in an X post.
Adesina, who is due to leave AfDB after 10 years this year, recently affirmed he is available for national service after his tenure at the bank concludes.
In an interview with Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni, Adesina stated, “I will be available to serve in any capacity, globally, in Africa, anywhere, including my own country.”
His comment has been interpreted as a hint at the 2027 presidency in several quarters.
However, Sani cautioned Adesina against being misled by politicians.
He said, “My friend Adeshina should not be misled by the sweet songs and drumbeats of politicians to jump into their crocodiles and sharks infested political streams and later abandon him midway.
“They have a seasonal mischievous history of motivating the zebra to take on the tiger.
“Continue your great work for our African Continent.”
