A former spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council in 2023, Kenneth Okonkwo, on Tuesday, said his next political destination has not been defined.

Okonkwo disclosed this on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“I have not made a decision on the party I want to go to. And if I do not see any party that has clear direction on the welfare of the Nigerian people, I will sit and take it up in prayers.

“I will not join any party except to my own understanding,” he finally stated.

His clarification comes a few hours after he announced his resignation from the Labour Party, saying the party as presently constituted is non-existent.

The lawyer also criticised the National Chairman of the LP, ,Julius Abure, for allegedly prioritising personal interests over the party’s survival.

Speaking on the live programme, Okonkwo said every LP member is to blame for the crisis rocking the leadership of the party.

According to him, the situation could have been averted if members had made a collective decision to address the core issues breeding trouble in LP

He said, “The indecisiveness of what happened in the Labour Party was the last straw that broke the camel’s back, and I blame everybody, including myself. We must all take collective responsibility for the anarchy in the Labour Party.

“”When I was saying anarchy looms, we have not come to this level. We came to a level where we have a caretaker committee chosen by all the stakeholders of the Labour Party. Yet, you have another set of clowns claiming they are party leadership, and they will use all means to sustain themselves in power because they are looking out for their pockets.”
