Argungu resumes at NBET, calls for collaboration to improve electricity

The management of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET) company, has received its newly-appointed Chairman, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, at its corporate headquarters in Abuja, with a call for collaboration to improve the nation’s electricity service.

Argungu, who is also the National Organizing Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was in company of other party leaders during the reception.

A statement released Wednesday in Abuja by his Special Assistant, Sani Galadima, said the reception had in attendance the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Johnson Akinnawo, alongside other Board of Directors and senior management staff of the company.

Speaking during the familiarization visit, the acting MD/CEO, who formally introduced the new Chairman to the staff, emphasised NBET’s critical role in maintaining stable and efficient electricity trading framework in Nigeria, adding that efforts are ongoing to enhance the country’s power sector.

In his remarks, Dr. Argungu, expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to him and his entourage.

He acknowledged NBET’s vital role in the electricity sector and pledged to work closely with the Board and management to improve electricity trading and supply in Nigeria.

The APC chieftain also underscored the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in order to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, while ensuring sustainable progress and efficiency in the sector.

Dr. Argungu further reaffirmed his commitment to advancing policies that would promote stability, transparency and innovation in electricity trading, with a strong focus on sustainable and renewable energy solutions.

Other APC leaders in attendance include the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, Dr. Suleiman Wambai, the APC Director of Organizing, Tasi’u Muhammed, APC Director of Election Management, Dr. Niyi Akinsiju, Special Assistant to the National Chairman, Dr. Ugboaja Stanley, Chief of Staff to the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, among others.
