Shehu Sani, Ramalan Yero, others join APC

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has officially welcomed former senator Shehu Sani and several other prominent politicians into the All Progressives Congress (APC), assuring them of equal rights and privileges within the party.
The high-profile defections were announced at a mega rally held on Saturday at Murtala Square, where Governor Sani addressed a massive crowd of APC supporters.
Speaking at the event, the governor emphasized that all party members—whether longtime supporters or new entrants—would be treated equally.
“Someone who joined APC today and the one who has been a foundation member 10 years ago are of the same status. They will enjoy the same rights and privileges,” he stated.
Governor Sani urged the new defectors to inform their supporters that the APC remains open to welcoming more members, attributing the party’s growing influence to its leadership at both state and federal levels.
“The APC has come to stay in Kaduna State, the entire North, and Nigeria as a whole. In the 2027 elections, the electorate will vote APC from top to bottom. At the top, our leader, President Bola Tinubu, will be elected again. At the state level, the party will win the gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, by the Grace of God,” he declared.
He further reassured Kaduna residents that his administration would continue executing developmental projects across the state, irrespective of political affiliations or ethno-religious considerations.
“Politics is different from governance. We will be fair to all, whether or not they voted for us, because that is the oath of office we swore to uphold as leaders,” he added.
Among the notable figures who defected to the APC were former Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero, Senator Shehu Sani, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, and the 2023 NNPP gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Sani Sha’aban.
Others included Senator Danjuma Laah (former PDP senator for Kaduna South), Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha (ex-National Organizing Secretary of the PDP), and Ambassador Sule Buba, former Nigerian envoy to South Korea.
