IGP Egbetokun decorates 19 newly promoted senior police

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has decorated 19 senior police officers with their new ranks in a ceremony held at the Goodluck Jonathan International Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The event, attended by top dignitaries, saw the promotion of three Commissioners of Police (CPs) to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG). The newly elevated AIGs are:
AIG Garba Ahmed
AIG Nemi Edwin Osigoboka Iwo
AIG Salman Garba Dogo
Additionally, 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP). Among the newly decorated CPs are:
CP Cyriacus Enechukwu
CP Gombit Bangs
CP Rosemary Akpan
CP Ayodele Adeyemi
The ceremony was graced by several notable personalities, including Prince Ma Sani-Omolori (The Ciroma of Ebira Land), Mr. Nebeolisa Anako (Former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission), and retired DIG Valentine Ntomchukwu. Also in attendance were serving and retired senior police officers, members of the Force Management Team, and families of the promoted officers.
Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun commended the newly promoted officers for their dedication to service and urged them to uphold the principles of professionalism, discipline, and commitment in their new roles. He emphasized the need for them to leverage their experience and expertise in policing to enhance national security, while strictly adhering to the Rule of Law.
