Outrage as coconut seller caught washing fallen coconuts in dirty gutter

A disturbing video currently making the rounds on social media has captured a Nigerian coconut seller washing peeled coconuts in a dirty roadside gutter.
In the viral clip, the vendor’s tray reportedly tipped over, causing several already-peeled coconuts — ready for sale — to fall into a gutter filled with murky, contaminated water. Shockingly, instead of discarding the coconuts, the seller was seen rinsing them directly in the dirty water, preparing to return them to his tray.
Bystanders who witnessed the act confronted the vendor, educating him about the serious health risks associated with using contaminated water to clean food meant for public consumption. They warned him about the potential dangers of washing coconut in a diet water, including the spread of waterborne diseases and infections among unsuspecting customers.
Although the vendor appeared to halt his actions after being corrected, it remains unclear whether he resumed once the concerned onlookers departed.
