Cristiano Ronaldo celebrating his new title with the Portuguese national team and gave it the added value of doing it against Spain, which he considers the best national team in the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo, scorer of a goal in Portugal’s Nations League final win over Spain, assured that despite his 40 years he maintains “the hunger”, with the challenge of reaching the 2026 World Cup with a national team that gains confidence after overcoming Spain.

“I’m happy because it was something this generation deserved, playing against Spain, which is the best team in the world, and winning is a special moment. It gives us the option to think about bigger things in the future,” he assured in the mixed zone of the Allianz Arena.

“I’m very happy, despite the age I am, the hunger remains. I don’t think about age, I just enjoy every moment. Winning with the national team is always special, you play for your nation, for your family and for your children. It’s very special to win for Portugal more than for others. Nothing beats winning with the national team,” he added.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not value the individual when asked and stayed with the collective. “It’s more important that Portugal played well than that I score. We fought well against Spain, being behind twice on the scoreboard and in the penalties we had that luck factor that gives us confidence for the future.”
