Police launch probe into viral video of actress jogging with armed officers

The Nigeria Police Force has condemned the actions of its officers seen in a viral video accompanying Nollywood actress Angela Okorie during a jogging session, describing the conduct as “clearly inconsistent with professional standards.”
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the police expressed concern over the public outcry generated by the video, which shows armed officers trailing Okorie in what appears to be a casual, non-official setting.
According to the police, while it remains unclear whether the video was captured on a movie set or in real life, the behavior of the officers involved does not align with the decorum and discipline expected of personnel of the Force.
“The Nigeria Police Force strongly frowns at the conduct of armed police officers seen in a viral video trailing actress Angela Okorie while she jogged — an act considered clearly inconsistent with the professional standards and decorum expected of personnel of the Force,” the statement read in part.
The police further confirmed that an internal review has commenced to identify the officers involved and investigate the context in which the video was recorded.
“Necessary administrative processes have been initiated to identify the officers involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the video. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the review,” Adejobi said.
The Force reiterated its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and maintaining public trust, assuring Nigerians that such conduct will not be tolerated moving forward.
