Lindelof bids farewell to Man Utd

Victor Lindelof has expressed his enduring affection for Manchester United after confirming his departure this summer, reflecting on his eight-year journey at Old Trafford and the special connection he forged with fans.
Victor Lindelof has officially bid farewell to Manchester United after eight seasons in the Red Devils’ shirt, but said he will always be a fan of the club. The Swedish centre-back shared his emotions after the final game of the season against Aston Villa.
“A perfect ending. Clean sheet and a win, so it was a great ending. To spend it with my family here [on the pitch afterwards], as well, was special. So, yeah, I couldn’t have asked for a better ending,”Lindelof told MUTV.
The player acknowledged that his time at the club has been marked by ups and downs, but that he always felt supported by the fans: “I am proud of myself. It’s been a lot of ups and downs. But I mean, for me to be able to represent this club for eight years, it’s been an honour and a privilege, and a dream come true.”
One of the most special moments for Lindelof was the victory over Manchester City at Wembley: “I think the FA Cup was great. Obviously, such an historic cup and to be able to win it was amazing.”
The defender stressed the importance of the bond with the fans: “I’ve had so many good memories here… They’re [the fans] with us through absolutely everything… I just want to say thank you so much for taking me in. I’m leaving as a player, but I will always be a fan.”
“I wish nothing but the best for the guys and everyone around the club. Yeah, hopefully next season will be a little better than this one. I’m very sure it’s going to be.”
