Aminu Tambuwal, some former governors and prominent members of the National Assembly are to officially dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The said Coalition is being led by the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, among others.

A reliable source, who is a senior member of the PDP, told our reporter that the move will lead more 70 percent of the real party members to the proposed 2027 Political Coalition.

It was gathered further that the mass exodus from the PDP will either take place this weekend or early next week.

The source said: “It has become necessary for all lovers of democracy in opposition parties to join hands with the patriot come together under the 2027 Coalition to rescue this country from the current hardship Nigerians are passing through.

“So, this development has been well discussed and agreed upon that we should all leave the carcass called PDP to some agents of APC in PDP. Therefore, by this weekend or early next week, we will all move out enmass to join other patriots in the proposed Coalition to rescue Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, it was also reliably learnt Thursday evening that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and former Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, have agreed to join the coalition fully.

A source said the agreement was reached Wednesday’s evening at a meeting of the real leaders of 2027 Coalition.

Confirming the development, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, in a WhatsApp message circulated on Thursday said the Coalition has also agreed on African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the political platform to use.

Dr. Ibrahim wrote: “In a historic and forward-looking decision, the leaders of the coalition unanimously agreed last night to collapse their structures into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“This momentous step marks the dawn of a new political era, one defined by unity, vision, and a shared commitment to move Nigeria forward.

“The ADC now emerges as the flagship platform for all Nigerians of conscience – men and women who believe in a just, inclusive, and progressive nation. This is not merely a merger of political interests but the birth of a broader national movement that prioritizes people over power, ideas over ego, and progress over propaganda.

“Congratulations to all members, partners, and supporters of the coalition. Our journey toward a better Nigeria has just taken a decisive leap forward. Let the work begin.”
