AFEX meets Governor Radda, set to invest in Katsina state

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has commended the AFEX team for showing interest to invest in the state.
He made this commendation when the AFEX team led by its Chief Executive Officer, Akinyinka Akintunde met him in Abuja, where they discussed various investments they’ll be making in Katsina State.
Governor Radda thanked AFEX for their interest to invest in Katsina State and reassured the team of the state’s unwavering commitment and resolve to support their investment in the state.
Governor Radda also reiterated that the state government will continue to ensure an enabling environment for private sector investments is provided for investors in the state.
He said AFEX’s investment in Katsina State will create the much needed jobs and reduce insecurity along with its attendant benefits such as increased internally generated revenues and boost agriculture’s contribution to the state’s GDP.
Earlier the AFEX CEO, Akintunde briefed the Governor on their plans to invest in Katsina State across various projects which include the following:
establishment of sesame processing facilities in strategic locations across the state.
The establishment of a seed institute that will focus on research, development, and certification of seeds tailored to the region’s agro-climatic conditions.
Provision of Inputs to Farmers, by this,AFEX will support Katsina State in ensuring that farmers have access to high-quality agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and agrochemicals.
Akintunde also highlighted that AFEX will collaborate with the State Government to create funds specifically targeted at supporting agro-dealers in the state.
