El-Rufai speaks as Sanusi returns as Emir

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reacted to the reinstatement of his close ally, Muhammadu Sanusi II, as Emir of Kano by the Kano State government.
The Former Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who dethroned Sanusi II in 2020 over some allegations.
According to report, the development led to a strained relationship between El-Rufai and Ganduje.
After the deposition of Emir Sanusi II in 2020 and his subsequent banishment to Nasarawa State, the then Governor El-Rufai at the time influenced his friend’s release from house arrest in the North-Central State and eventual relocation to Lagos.
However, four years after, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Thursday reinstated Sanusi II following the repeal of the Kano State Emirates Law 2019 and enactment of Kano Emirate Law 2024 by the State House of Assembly.
Reacting to the latest development from his location in the United States of America, former Governor El-Rufai took to his Facebook page on Friday night to post a cryptic message, evidently referring to the development in Kano Emirate.
In a post tagged ‘Friday Reminder’, with a quote from the Holy Qur’an, El-Rufai wrote: “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.” – Holy Quran – Surah Al-Anfal (8:30).”
