Again! TY Danjuma calls for self defense against bandits

This former Defence Minister, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.), has called on Nigerians to defend their selves in light of persistent attacks by bandits and other criminal elements across the country.
Speaking at a public gathering in Takum, Taraba State on Saturday, Danjuma reiterated a warning he issued five years ago, insisting that the prevailing state of insecurity has only made it more urgent.
“The warning I gave some years ago is still as valid today as it was then. Nigerians must rise and defend themselves,” he said.
Danjuma expressed deep concern over the increasing violence in Benue, Plateau, and other parts of the country, noting that his fears had once again been confirmed by the recent wave of killings.
“We cannot continue to sit and watch while bandits, terrorists, and criminal gangs massacre our people unchecked,” he stated.
A native of Takum himself, Danjuma criticized the government’s handling of the security situation and emphasized the need for local communities to take proactive steps to safeguard lives and property.
“It is now very clear that the government alone cannot protect us. We must stand up and defend ourselves, our families, and our lands before these criminals overrun the entire country,” he added.
His remarks come in the wake of renewed attacks in Plateau and Benue states that have claimed numerous lives and displaced residents in affected areas.
