Amid defection rumour, Ododo meets PDP governors

Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has fueled defection rumours with his unexpected attendance at a meeting of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum.
The meeting, which took place at the Taraba State Government House, was hosted by Governor Agbu Kefas and attended by some PDP governors.
Photos from the meeting show Governor Ododo dressed in a matching outfit with his PDP counterparts.
The PDP governors met to discuss ways to issues concerning the party amid leadership crisis.
Governor Ododo’s attendance at the meeting has raised eyebrows, especially given the current circumstances surrounding his political godfather, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
Bello, who is facing charges of money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of N80.2 billion during his tenure, was recently declared a fugitive by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The declaration by the EFCC follows a Court of Appeal ruling ordering Bello to appear for arraignment on corruption charges.
“We are collaborating with both local and international law enforcement agencies to ensure Bello’s arrest.
“As it is now, Yahaya Bello cannot come into the open. He cannot make himself available anywhere because he has become a fugitive, and we all know the instruments of the law.
“Anywhere he is sighted, he would be arrested,” EFCC Spokesman Dele Oyewale had said.
