APC dismisses viral report on automatic tickets for lawmakers as “fake news”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly denied a widely circulated report claiming that it has granted automatic tickets to all its current National Assembly members for the upcoming elections.
In an official press statement released on Tuesday, the party described the report—tagged “APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members”—as entirely false.
“The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party,” said Felix Morka, Esq, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC.
Morka further urged both party members and the general public to ignore the claims, emphasizing their lack of credibility. “We urge all Party members and the general public to disregard the report as FAKE and of mischievous origin,” he said.
The APC’s statement comes amid growing political activity in the lead-up to the 2026 general elections. By firmly disowning the report, the party has sought to reaffirm its commitment to transparency and internal democratic processes.
“No such decision has been taken,” an APC official familiar with the matter added off the record, reinforcing the party’s stance.
The party maintained that any updates regarding candidate selection or primary processes would be communicated through official and verifiable channels.
