APC loses prominent chieftain

Bola Longe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, has died.
Longe passed away on Sunday, December 22, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to both his political party and his community.
Longe was a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu and played a significant role in mobilizing support for the APC during the last presidential election.
His unwavering loyalty to the party and its leaders earned him respect and admiration within political circles.
Before venturing into politics, Longe had a distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, where he served for over 33 years. His career was marked by notable achievements, including leading the operation in 2021 that dismantled one of North Central Nigeria’s largest railway vandalism networks. He also held several strategic positions, including heading federal operations at Force Headquarters in Abuja.
After retiring from the police, Longe pursued a new path as a lawyer and pastor, demonstrating his commitment to serving society in diverse ways. He was an alumnus of the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos, where he gained recognition as a mentor, activist, and advocate for peace.
Longe’s death has left a void in the APC and the broader community. Tributes have poured in from political associates, legal colleagues, and family members, all praising his contributions and mourning his loss.
His multifaceted legacy as a police officer, lawyer, pastor, and political leader will continue to inspire those who knew him.
