Barcelona announce Neymar’s return

Barcelona are exploring the option of bringing Neymar Jr back to the Camp Nou.
Although the Brazilian has just returned to Santos, his deal with the club will only run until June 2025, making him available to the Catalans in the summer as a free agent.
leaving Barcelona after four extraordinary years in which he lit up the international stage alongside Messi and Suarez.
And after failing to replicate the same with the Qatari-owned Parisians, Neymar went where the money lied as he left European football to sign for Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal in August 2023, earning around £130m annually.
But having endured a turbulent spell in the Middle East, filled with injuries and setbacks, the 32-year-old terminated his contract with the Saudi side and made a shocking return to boyhood club Santos in January of this year.
Although Neymar is said to be happy playing in his homeland, his contract with the Sao Paolo club will run through until June 30 2025. Should his deal not be extended, he will become a free agent at the end of the season.
And this is where Barcelona come in. According to the same report, Neymar is dreaming of a return, with the upcoming 2026 World Cup representing a big source of motivation to play at the highest levels once again.
While the ‘deal’ has only progressed in the form of discussions, early signs look positive. ‘Blaugrana’ president Joan Laporta and Pini Zahavi’s (Neymar’s representative) close relationship could influence the future of his ‘dream’.
