Breaking: Govt declares Monday public holiday


The Government of Ghana has declared Monday public holiday to commemorate Founders’ Day, which falls on Sunday.
According to a statement revealed by Interior
Minister Henry Quartey on Sunday, August 4, is a statutory public
holiday, but since it falls on a Sunday, President Akufo-Addo has declared the following day, Monday, as an additional public holiday.
This declaration follows Section 2 of the
Public Holidays and Commemorative Days
Act, (Act 601).
The public is hereby informed that Monday,
August 5, should be observed as a public
holiday throughout the country.
