Breaking: TCN announces states to experience total blackout over maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled preventive maintenance on the Ife-Ondo 132kV transmission line, slated for Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
The maintenance exercise, planned from 9 am to 4 pm, aims to address key areas along the transmission line, specifically between Towers 6 and 12, according to a public notice by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs.
TCN stated that this maintenance work is essential to ensure the stability and reliability of the transmission line, as TCN’s Lines Maintenance Engineers conduct trace inspections and repairs. During this period, customers relying on power from the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (Benin DisCo) in Ondo and Okitipupa may experience service interruptions, as the company will not be able to offtake power from the affected feeders.
Power supply will resume as soon as the maintenance is completed, with TCN assuring the public that the operation is crucial for enhancing future service quality and reliability.

TCN encourages affected customers to plan accordingly and appreciates their patience as the company works to improve the integrity of the power transmission network.
