Chelsea manager breaks silence on Boxing Day defeat to Fulham

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has shared his thoughts on the Blues’ 2-1 loss to Fulham in their Boxing Day Premier League clash.
Chelsea started strong, with Cole Palmer giving them an early lead in the first half. However, Fulham staged a remarkable comeback in the second half, with late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz sealing victory for the Cottagers.
In his post-match interview with Prime Video UK, the Chelsea boss attributed the defeat to his team’s inability to control transitions during the game’s critical moments.
“I think probably in the first 10-15 minutes of the second half, we conceded too many transitions to them,” Maresca admitted.
Maresca expressed disappointment in the Chelsea team’s performance during the opening moments of the second half, emphasizing the need for better game management.
“We could have controlled the second half much better, especially in the first 15-20 minutes. Then the game was there. But unfortunately, we conceded the goal in the last minute.”
The loss leaves Chelsea with work to do as they look to improve their consistency in the Premier League campaign.
